Cars Land :: Disney's California Adventure

Still under construction, but here's an update!
The layout of Cars Land is similar to the main street of Radiator Springs as seen in Cars and Cars 2.

Currently there are tall walls surrounding the construction site, and the walls have some fun illustrations:

A sneak peek at the layout.

With new attractions, new dining and new shopping venues, it's gonna be a fun addition!

Happy July 4th @ Disneyland!!!

This 4th of July, we decided to go to Disneyland with Jenny (Danny's lil sis) and her boyfriend , Eric. After a fun-filled day, we watched the fireworks show. Surprisingly, the park was not crowded and the wait for each ride was approximately 15minutes! That definitely lifted our spirits to the max! Here is a view of our play day!

Space Mountain - Danny and I were ready for the camera with our poses!

They had a huge Toy Story 3 toy box on display. We had a little too much fun?!

Wonder why we decided to plaster our faces onto the window, when we have never seen an action figure sold like that, haha!

Tourist picture time!

Us @ Big Thunder Mountain

One of Danny's favorite rides : Soarin' Over California @ Disney's California Adventure

Toy Story Midway Games - An attraction where guests wear 3D glasses and hop on-board a spinning vehicle that takes you through a virtual environment to 5 different Toy Story-themed games, and using the on-board cannon you fire simulated projectiles at virtual targets.

Danny shooting his cannon to hit as many targets as possible to get a higher score!

Horrible accuracy, but at least I won!

Someone scored 556,600 this month! That's insane! I need to practice more!

We tried out the "Animation Academy" where they have a Disney artist teach the audience how to draw a Disney character. One session is just around 10 minutes, and he teaches a different character each session. So, you could technically keep going to the sessions and learn to draw more characters. When we went he taught Jack from "Nightmare Before Christmas." Each seat has a drawing board, paper and pencil to get you started.

On stage the artist takes you through step by step on how to draw the perfect Jack.

This is my progress. I think my Jack head is a little squashed!!

The artist hard at work...

Artist Danny and his completed sketch! (That's pretty good for your first time!)

So, we concluded that Jenny and I had a more cute look to Jack. What do you think?!

This is the finished piece of the Disney artist. Good job, Danny! You were quite spot on!

California Screamin' - Wanna take a ride with us? Here is me doing my best to tape the entire ride!
(Don't mind Danny and Jenny's hands! They seem to be "posing" for the camera)

...And here is me at work, trying to keep the video camera steady as Danny and Jenny enjoy the ride, haha!

At the end of the day, we enjoyed the Disney 4th of July fireworks show!
Here is a short glimpse of the fireworks finale.

BONUS PICTURE! This was the first time in many years that Danny and Jenny went to Disneyland together. We thought it'd be nice to show them back then (1987), and how they look now! What cute siblings!

This is bye for now! See you soon!

Narukawa-Lightvoet Wedding Fun!!

First of all, congratulations to the marriage of Chiaki & Tom! Danny and I couldn't be more happier for them, and it was wonderful to take part in their special day as the Matron of Honor and Groomsmen. Not only did we have the delight of seeing our two friends back in the OC, but we got to meet and become close with Chiaki's family! It was really great to see Chiaki and Tom's family come together and make unforgettable memories.

Apart from the wedding, we had an amazing time showing the family around to some "hot spots" of Southern California. So, not to bore you with too much text, here are some fun photos for you! It was extremely hard to narrow my choices down as there were tons of great photos!

Wedding : Family Portrait Photos on the Beach

Wedding : Ceremony at the Church

Wedding : Reception under the Fabulous California Sunshine
It was an honor singing for your First Dance!

Disneyland : Everyone Letting Loose Days After the Wedding!

Yup, Captain EO is back!!!

Hollywood/Santa Monica : Letting Loose Even More!

Coming to the End of an Amazing Week
I can't express enough how great it was to see all the families come together and
enjoy one another's company!
One of the amusing things to see when the families got together was watching the kids interact!
Boys : It's amazing how video games can bring two kids so close together =D
Girls : Even with the language barrier, they knew how to play and have fun with each other!
Winding down to the last day of Chiaki's family visit to the OC - drained but satisfied!

Friends Forever!
Chiaki and Tom, it was really great to see you guys and as I said in my speech, " it meant so much to us to stand up there with you and watch our closest friends get married today. You make things entertaining and exciting for us, and we’ll always cherish your friendship because we love you guys to pieces." Hope to see you soon!
